My name is Vani, a proud self employer. My husband S.R.Kathir is a Self Employed professional in Movie Industry. We have two kids aged 13 and 8. I was a working professional till we planned for kids. We decided to run our familial life, with Kathir’s income as the only source, which will always be in an irregular pattern.

Whenever he signs a project, his remuneration will be paid, only according to the schedules and its completion, but not on monthly basis. With the little knowledge that I gathered while working as a coordinator in an insurance company, we were managing our monthly commitments, with this irregular mode of income.

In the year 2009, we managed to invest a very small amount in Postal savings - RD for an amount of 12,000/- per year for 5 yrs. When it got matured, we were really excited over the savings we did, and the returns it earned. Meanwhile, we also managed to invest a Life Insurance through LIC, to secure our life which would also get a good returns during its maturity. With his irregular income pattern, when commitments in family like a wedding or family function arise, our financial situations always have led us to borrow money from known circle of friends or from private finance for higher interest rates. Since our field of occupation doesn’t come under usual category, no banks will help us with a Loan, though we are prompt Income Tax payers and all our Incomes are from proper channel, that is ‘White’ in financial terms. For any emergency, we used to take a Gold Loan and close it when there is an inflow of lump sum funds. This is how our financial management was, till we met our Financial professional Mr SJ Haribabu. During 2015, we were happen to hear about him, from one of our friend that he is taking financial guidance and it is helping him to handle his finance management in a better way. We were also just thinking for almost 2 years to take financial advise, but never gave a try.

Finally, one day when Kathir had a narrow escape of his life during his shooting, at that very moment he questioned himself about how insecure and in risk is our family being him the only breadwinner. He decided that, whatever certain done, whether we have funds in hand or not, let us first understand what a Financial Service is and how are we going to fit ourselves into it. Initially Kathir met Mr. SJ.Haribabu and their detail conversation went on for nearly 4 - 5 hrs. Haribabu did a thorough analysis on our present way of managing the Expenses, Savings and Investments to meet our life goals, along with the irregular pattern of income we had. Soon after that meeting, Mr.SJ Haribabu came up with a plan and met us. His plan covered a detailed study on our income pattern, our plans for Kids Education, Healthcare and Retirement plans

He had a detail discussion with us and gave a walk through about our investments which will meet our goals. To start with, he suggested to secure on Kathir, with a Term Insurance. Next, with another investment on the whole family for Health Care. Regarding the regular savings, he suggested to continue the LIC and Postal savings which we were already doing. We managed to take care of all the new investments he suggested by the end of 2017. He gave a clear picture statistically, that made us to understand that our goals are achievable, in a more realistic way and it gave us lot of hope.

From 2018, as per his suggestions, we started to invest in Mutual Funds, mostly on SIP. As time progressed, we started seeing the benefits of our investments, which would help us to see the goals getting achieved effortlessly. The combination of Hike in our income and Mr SJ Haribabu’s suggestion, have helped us to diversify our income to meet our goals in a well mannered way. Above all, the uniqueness of his financial guidance is that, whenever we think of buying something, he has made us to think and analyze in all aspects. Like, whether the purchase is truly necessary, is there any alternate for the same, and if so, how much we would gain or lose and so on.

After analyzing in all aspects, it is quite easy to take a decision. In time, we have developed this habit naturally, with the continuous practice he has given us. Slowly, we started realizing that his guidance, has always helped us a lot, specifically in the present trend of buying anything using the most influential EMI technique, which has an undisclosed tag ‘Buy Now, Suffer Later by Paying more’ underneath. We learned to allot more funds towards investment for future goals, well balanced with our regular monthly expenses. The investment strategies by our financial professional has always helped us to manage our needs comfortably.
